Infinity Ward's confirmed that Modern Warfare 2's first downloadable map pack will hit Xbox Live on March 30.
The news comes via a rather odd marketing site linked via the developer's Twitter. "http://www.mapathy.com - Feeling the effects of Mapathy? It's okay, the cure is hitting #Xboxlive in just 3 short weeks," community man Robert Bowling posted.
The Mapathy site descibres a "state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months", and says "the cure is coming to Xbox Live March 30, 2010".
According to the internet we've already had our first look at the Modern Warfare 2 map pack - A video appeared on the internet last week showing the 'Stimulus Package', which includes five maps, new and old.
Xbox 360 supposedly has a 30 day heads-up on the pack, so PC and PS3 players should expect to recieve it at the end of April or beginning of May.

we wont even give a shit about it anymore after 30 days of seeing a thousand videos on youtube about it. the few PS3 MW2 guys who do commentary might suffer a bit from the delay too. i swear man, infinity ward sold out big time.

Yeah sorry for my haters approach to MW2 - i just think this game was bullshyte from the start and think they have botched their ties with PS3 owners with their sellout to Microsoft. The only reason they sold so many copies is the success of cod4, their claims to have hired a glitch specialist to fix problems prior to release is BS. BFBC2 is not without its problems either as i really think bug checking and rushed release will leave some people hating this game as well. i know PC guys are getting frustrated as they couldn't even play single player last night.
Anyway getting back to this thread, if you are thinking of buying these map packs "give yourself an uppercut" spend the $20 bucks towards a pre-order.
