Unforunetly i won't be getting AvP anymore..I just finished playing the Multi-player demo..My comments: Made me cry.. There was just something that..Made it wrong.. :/ The trailers and all that, yea they make it look like then when you play it you think Did i just buy that? What a mistake.. Well this is my opinion, take it into ur own or not. Just don't tear urself apart over it.

Wellll..Alien is weird ass controls o.O...Movement is also..Predator/Marine..Well go play AvP Classic already..Same stuff..All that has been 'improved' is the graphics imo..Also choosing your race, its annoying because if there is certain people that always play it..you cant play it..so you have to get the crappy race! Tbh i sense 'Duke Nukem Forever' Story happened..Looked s000 awesome..but got canceled..but with AvP..it was just pretty clothes, took them off and was horrible...;(

I'm waiting for the Giant Bomb review personally, I already decided I won't get it from stuff I've read and what I played of the demo, but I still want to see what Jeff Gerstmann has to say about it.

Ok so i put in an hour or two of the Predator campaign and it is not as bad as i expected, the first thing i had to do was lower the brightness as with many PS3 games the default brightness is too high compared to 36o.

Graphics - Has some nice effects and overall no major issues so far,animation is stiff sometimes and it doesn't really pop out of the screen but by no means is it terrible,it's like a good first gen PS3 game.

Control - Again, only played the Predator so far but the controls after a slight adjustment feel pretty good,not loose like i thought and the jumping is easy enough as well as sprinting and shooting but the melee can feel sloppy.

Sound - Well it's just like the films, take that as you want but for me it's awesome,looking forward to the beep of the motion sensor as a marine.


Gameplay - Stealth feels like Batman AA,stalking your prey is great and sneaking in for the brutal melee is sweet but when a bunch of aliens converge on you it does feel sloppy trying to connect but moving a way for a distance attack seems to make up for this.
AI seems odd on hard, the aliens are tough and come at you from all angles but the human AI goes from standing still looking right at you to spotting you despite being cloaked and seemingly having marksmanship accuracy.

The good so far - the feeling of being a predator,the many ways to kill from distracting foes,setting up ambushes,laying traps,sniping with the plasma cutter or just rushing the muthafuckers.
Awesome alien onslaughts that are like a mini left4dead session.
Brutal kills.
It's fun.
Pretty decent speed.


The Bad - Had 3 freezes on the same section

Difficulty spikes.
Awkward melee.


So all in all it's better than i thought so far,like a good action flick,not award worthy but fun,this could change if the rest of the game blows but that is why the 7 day return policy owns.

Oh and btw 1.01 patch is live.

Played the first levels of the Alien & Marine campaigns.

Alien - Awesome speed and fluidity once you get used to the control but don't expect much in the way of narrative, it's kill,kill,kill which is fun but it is also the most one dimensional campaign but still great for fast paced thrills.

The Marine - Visually much weaker than the other two with poor fire,explosion effects but with occasional nice lighting,i cannot figure out how to aim down the sights ( I think it is not a feature) so firing from the hip can be clumsy but you get used to it.
Despite the flaws of the Marine game it makes up for it by having more narrative (naturally) and is much more tense due to you being so vulnerable,the motion sensor makes you feel like you are playing the film Alien.


The 3 styles all feel different,

The marine is just like DOOM,constantly looking around corners,spotting a shadow and tossing a flare while you redecorate your trousers,trying to conserve ammo and getting the fuck out of there.

The Alien is a killing machine that in some ways feel like a souped up Pacman on steroids and the speed at which you can travel makes Need For Speed seem as fast as a Canadian counting .

The MOFO Predator, what can i say, you feel like a predator,stalking,hunting,teasing,terrifying muhahahahahaha.
(those aliens can tear you a new one PFQ though)

Overall (Without multiplayer played yet) i'd actually give this a 7.5 to 8,it may not be the best looking,smoothest or even most wanted game around but the 3 unique play styles and the kick ass atmosphere ( Predator fuckin rules nuff said) make up for it for me.

I haven't touched base with the Alien yet, but played a bit as Marine and Predator.

Graphics - Fairly decent. Cut Scenes are horrendous, but in game it is quite pretty. PC looks better though.

Gameplay - Quite good. TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO. As a Predator you do feel like a predator which is good. Melee combat is good fun and you get some NICE finishing moves which are fun to watch. Weapons are decent and if your not careful aliens will give you a run for your money. MARINES SHIT me. In single player marines will stare RIGHT AT YOU when you are invisble, adn even if you ARE NOT MOVING HIDING IN A CORNER SAFELY they can spot you. Very fucking annoying. Besides that its good.

As a Marine you are fairly weak and die. Your assault rifle is nice and chunky with 100 round clips. Too bad you go through bullets like a fish through water. IT FEELS like a Marine should though, IT FEELS RIGHT. If you turn your brightness down enough it makes it quite realistic. the aliens become black blurs in the shadows and you really have to be careful not to get fucked over. It really focuses on that survival-horror aspect. My only bitch is that I can't aim down my sights.... and the lack of ammo.

As for Aliens, I'm yet to play. but. They look decent. The wall climbing gonna take some gettting used to but shouldn't be too bad. Acid blood is annoying. Nasty in combat as well. And SO DAMN QUICK.

Single player ain't great, but it gives you a decent feel for each playable race. I think when I hit up multiplayer THATS where this game will reallly shine.

Sound - fan-fucking-tastic. Everything sounds so right. The music in the background, the marines, the aliens, the predator. All so good.

I'm gonna be realistic, as I'm still missing quite a bit. But with consideration of other unplayed aspects, this rates somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5. I WANT to give it 8.5, or higher, butI think I need to have a crack at multiplayer first.

WORTH PICKING UP.

They would have struggled to do a bad job of the sound in this game, considering the wonderful array of existing sound effects from the films that they have the licensing for.
