I set up another event as Sunday went into the ether, actually I just set the original event to repeat so i don't know if it will actually send out all the invites again.
Anyway Tuesday 2nd October usual time if anyone wants to race.

Will be on tonight. Will flick a message to DriftGTS as well

Cool, we should have 4 or 5 players, podium potential high ha ha.
Unfortunately I think when I repeated the event it did not actually resend out invites for the new one, silly Sony ha.
Now I understand why Stiff had to remake events each time rather than just repeat them.
Cheers for the races, fantastic fun as always!
This is like BFBC2, I have a smile on my dial all the time I play, don't even care if I win or lose, gotta be one of the most enjoyable mulitplayer games right now. The more AUF that join the merrier!
Here is some of the action from our races, I lost some of the recording but I captured an awesome tussle with Muddy on Dragon Trail, pulled off a killer sweeping turn to cut inside at the final turn.
Video is a bit long but I just had to put in that demolition derby session, the ending to that race on Fuji was hilarious as well ha ha.
Thanks as always for organising it Smaj. I really appreciate it.
Watching that racing highlights how jittery I am. You are so smooth compared to me.
Your right it's just good fun.

Good fun last night. Even though i won the steven bradbury award in the first race.. look forward to joining in again .. work permitting.
For the next GT night we should do a GT classics race, use the 90's Japanese cars that were in Gran Turismo 1 and 2
Some I can think of are
Supra
Fairlady
NSX
Lancer Evo
RX-7
Skyline
Great fun and nostalgic too, sports tyres chucking em around the track with absurd liveries ha ha.
Also we could do an actual F1 face at one of the GP tracks with pit stops.
The older F1500 cost 1 million credits, is much more fun than the 2017 Mercedes.
I don't know how long it takes to earn a million credits though.
Guys do we have a "show us your sim rig set up thread ? "
Smaj can you enforce no driving aids. Like traction control.
My setup is a PS4 controller.

We have a game room setup thread here.
http://www.ausforces.com/showthread....-Thread/page21
Yeah you can enforce aid settings off etc, I prefer to leave them up to each player.
You can set up the traction control settings for each car in the garage or car settings screen and save them so you don't have to adjust each race. In the race you can adjust TC on the fly with the dpad too.
I use a controller, I prefer no TC on my cars, only the lower N class cars I put TC on 1.
That is why I spin when I get grabby on the throttle ha ha.
My settings are.
ASM Active stability off
Counter steering off
ABS Weak
TRaction Control off or 1 Nclass.
Three races I tried to make each feel pretty different, should be good fun. I'll set up the event for Tuesday 16th October when I get a chance.
First one is a technical battle with lower cars, not necessarily will the fastest driver win.
Second has some great sweeping corners, but if you go too wide you are off into the desert along with the victory hopes.
Third is an all out F1 race, fuel depletion, tyre wear, shortcut penalties and damage! So there could be three different variables as a reason to pit, also makes overtakes a precarious proposition, I can envisage multiple pits for repairs ha ha.
1. GT Classics at Alsace - Village II
N300 cars from 1985-1999
280 BHP - 1,270kg
2. FWD Desert Dash at Willow Springs: Big Willow
Gr.B (Traction control of 1 feels good in Gr.B)
545 BHP - 1,100kg
3. F1 Fiesta at either Monza No Chicane or another F1 course that people want.
F1500T-A (1 million credits)
986 BHP - 540kg
F1 race has Damage on, tyre wear, fuel depletion, track cut penalties, false start grid. Oh Shit! ha ha.
Sounds awesome. Not sure I will be able to get 1 mil in time but I will try

No worries, can easily fall back on Gr.3 cars if the F1 isn't viable enough, keep all the goodies like damage enabled etc.
I was also wondering if changing the time of day conditions will keep qualifying times, thought it would be fun to have practice/qualy/warm up in the daytime settings, then change the race to night in options, or vice versa.
Adds a bit of variety between the practice runs and the race imo and simulates the race day feel.
Night racing is very different. Would be awesome if the time could be dynamic. So day/night cycle every 30 mins or so.

Bummer, I tested out the changing time settings and the game sees it as the lobby changing tracks so wipes the fastest laps. Best I can do is have each race at a different time of day so it feels like a race day progressing.
And I set up a custom F1 race with damage, this was crazy fun, the A.I was aggressive and caused themselves damage so had to pit at an inopportune time putting it out of sync with the field, came out on supersofts and was blitzing the laptimes ha ha.
I think I got the settings pretty good, fuel lasts about 8 laps, soft tyres about 5, supersofts 2 or 3. I was doing mid 1:24s for most of the race before my final stint on SS when I dropped into the 1:22's.
Hard tyres and fuel saving on 2 should do an entire race, any nudge and you might get some damage though, feels like there is body damage as well as suspension damage, it is possible to lap with slight damage and still do pretty well.
That sounds amazing. Can't wait to give it a go

Still have room for tonights race if any late shows wanna get in on the fun.
I might try some new pit lane communication messages I have been testing.
Cheers for the games, great fun as always.
That Gr.B race in the desert was hilarious, gotta check out that replay. I love how on edge that track feels, one tyre in the dirt and you are in for a wild ride.
The Monza race was a calamity for most of it for me, burned my tyres up on the second lap before hitting the wall, early pit stop was almost a miracle, as all of sudden everything clicked and I was flying on the last 3 laps, almost caught Spud but I had a penalty hanging over my head anyway ha ha.
Haha. Yeah they were all good fun tonight. The GR B race was terrifying.
In the GR3 Me and mud were matching laps for 4 or 5 there until I threw it all away and put it into the sand. My pit undercut almost worked damit

I reckon a supercar race with pit stops and damage would be fun, A coming together at Forrest's elbow making people limp to the pits whilst the guys behind get back into the race.
If we can figure out the correct initial fuel load I think we could have races where there are several legitimate race strategies available.
Gotta look to use some of the cars that rarely see any action too.
I think some 1950/60's races would be good, I wanna use this car ha ha.
We could also have an American muscle car battle. Chevy Nova vs Mustang vs Dodge challenger for example.
I like playing around on tracks with car combinations I seldom use.
If we can rope in another couple of AUFers we should be able to get 8 player races going. Might have to set the event to auto-start the game for those who forget heh.
We had 8 before and it was fun and hectic. I kinda wish we could have NPC cars fill out the grid as well. 4 to 8 players with NPCs filling the other slots would be intense.
I would like to do a 20+ lap race. Maybe Bathurst in GR3/4 or 90s Hero's. Fuel, tyres penalties and Damage.
I really enjoy the qualifying time rather than 30 mins of free play. Monza was awesome. Maybe we could use the Red bull racer for 350k credits while I am still saving for the 1 million race car

Yeah I like the little messages, adds a a sense of progression to the race, and urgency to qualifying.
As for longer races, I think maybe the long races should be first up perhaps rather than last race, that way we can use the shorter races to relax and wind down a bit after, also useful for people who need to go to bed ha ha.

Just tested a couple of scenarios.
Suzuka in an F1, 20 laps is fun.
I was thinking Gr.2 as well. It is a shame that there are only 3 Gr.2 cars in the game because the Raybrig NSX is by far my fav car to drive in the game and I never get to use it.
Looking at the cars and tracks we have not used yet was interesting, I think a trip to Nurburgring might be round the corner.
Preliminary races I have saved scenarios for are.
F1 at Suzuka
Nurburgring shootout Gr.2/3/4 , you only live once ha ha.
Muscle car showdown Blue Moon speedway.
50/60's cars with race tyres at Brands Hatch for that Goodwood feel.
Go karts at Brands Indy circuit
Mount panorama survival with pits.
Red Bull Junior at the Red Bull Ring
Kyoto Gr.1 brilliant track.
Le Mans Gr.1 with pits.
Here are three races for next event, hopefully they sound good.
1. F1 or Gr.3 race at Catalunya.
11- 15 laps
Race tyres
Refuel/Pits/Damage.
2. TBA N Class race
5 laps
TBA Tyres.
3. Go Karts at Maggiore Centre
4 laps

Sounds good. I have the F1 car now.
Hot tip on cash generation. Professional series, premium lounge, moon bay. 7 min race In a N600 I was easily seconds ahead and earning 190k without the clean race bonus.

Yeah there are a couple of race setups that can net some good dosh over here. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threa...-setup.377859/
I just race for the enjoyment of the driving though, grinding would take that away I reckon, I think I won some of my more expensive cars like the Cobra and those 1 or 2 million cars are okay to get through regular play so I am not too fussed.
Fuck trying for the 20 million ones though. I have had the game for a year and in total I think I am at only 19 Million all up!
They should make the Sport races a bit more profitable, a million per win, why not? ha.
Also I was gonna set up the event for Tuesday the 30th however the update is scheduled for Wednesday the 31st! Those bastards!
The update is bringing the Catalunya track and hopefully some more goodies.
So the main race on the 30th will have to be on a different track d'oh.. GG PD.
No probs Smaj. We can do that race the fortnight after.

Update is now coming on Tuesday 6th November, I wonder if the maintenance will be over in time to set up an event.
Might be worth waiting just in case
