Just thought i would let you all know, that if you send your PS3 to SONY they will stuff you around. *But after abusing some poor lady on the phone today ( i feel bad, i thought she was about to cry). *I rang them at 11, and at 4:30 i had an email saying my consle was being sent back, and all they offered me for my inconvience way 1 month extra warranty. So i look forward to owning you all again soon.

The moral of the story. If you send a console back, be prepared for a fight and dont be afraid to abuse them.

You got it yet mate. Mine died just after yours & i'm having all the same problems. I want my fricking ps3 back. My laptop died as well.. Woe is me!

Ok, got laptop back, if i ps3 doesn't appear this week i will call again. Let me know when you get yours Steggs. I may need that complaints info yet...

i'll say it again, i am just so glad i forked out for the 2 year in-store warranty. all these forum horror stories of people being without their beloved's for 4-6 weeks at a stretch 8O

there's no way i'm ever going more than 12 hours without a console now :D

I forked out extra for 3 years warrenty (1 year that comes with the PS3 and then an extra 2 years from the store) but I am kind of worried because they don't make my 60gb PS3 anymore so my store warrenty is going to be useless because they can't just swap it over.

How long after you got the email from sony confirming they had received your ps3 did you get it back. The email said mine would be 'processed' in 10-12 working days. Did you have to chase them again?
Well done getting back into the fight though man!

about 20 days, just keep ringing them and ask for the complaints department, everyday i rang them and just get hasseling them *till i go it, *once you get the email saying its been returned it will be 1-2 days

I'm back!...well not quite. According to Sony email, steggs' advice and my calculations my fixed ps3 WILL be back on my doorstep tomorrow. It WILL be there. Got to keep telling myself that. See you all online tomorrow night (providing someone has kept me on thier list after a month of inactivity).

See my other post mate. Your hope lies in HN replacing it on the spot - go for that.
If you have to send it to Sony it will be a month. :cry:

Right got my ps3 back at last, ps3 only, not all new controllers, leads etc - didn't send them though. I know another member who got a complete new boxed ps3, so ended up with extra leads etc, but i just got the ps3.
Anyway here are the dates for anyone that has to send away for warranty.
Rang/ got email/ posted off to Sony March 18.
Got email from Sony saying they had receiver it Mar 27 (even though i sent it registered and they should have got it by March 20. They also denied having it when i rang, then sent me an email an hour later (at 7pm!) to say they had it.
Got another email saying it was ready April 10.
Received it April 15.
That's exactly 4 weeks from start to finish. My advice, chase Sony, a lot.

I tried to call HN today to suss it out. Being Sunday though, the technician wasn't there.

Call them back tomorrow afternoon and find out what's happening.

Hey, didn't even register that i was playing you last night. Did you get your mates PS3?

Edit: Oh, got your cousins. Gets rusty don't it - soon comes back though.
