str8 to the point, put the game in it doesn't pop up on the menu and doesn't load,

anything I can do...???

A 40GB model - you must have had that for a while!

Try multiple formats (music cd, BR movie and BR game and then standard DVD).

If none of them work then PS3 = F*&ked and it's time to put PS3 slim on the Christmas wish list.

If one works then repost

Didn't someone manage to trade in a broken PS3 for a NEW PS3 successfully.... wihtout telling them that it was broken :D

i had a mate who got the diode replaced for around 250 or something. youre better off getting slim tbh. unless you can find a place that will replace it for well under $200

HK model (wont play AU dvds, it is b/c but only for HK region games...but will play everything else) + 11 or so games.

this happened to me. when u put a disk in, does it come up with the little sphere thing in the top right corner saying its loading?
thats what happened to me. sounds like the laser

i am that mate, it cost 220 had to be ordered in from some place so it cost quite a bit. Migth be cheaperr now thought because at the time the fella working there said it part was in high demand because heaps of ps3s were dying.
